Regularly, new ict services become available that could support your work. We (the computer system group) can't always make you aware because we don't know your needs. And you (the end user) should be able to find out on your own.

You will find some pointers here to get an idea of things available.

UU ICT

UU ICT (Dutch) does projects for the university which can affect your work. They manage the University network, described at the UU Solisnet site. Daily management of the network has been outsourced to Capgemini Infrastructure Management.

Surf

The Surf foundation does a lot of work in networking higher education in the Netherlands and offering services related to this. The main task of Surf we are familiar with is Surfnet, the high speed network for higher education and research but there is lots more.

Surf magazine

To get regular updates on the work of Surf, you can get a subscription to Surf magazine, available in Dutch on paper, visit Surf Actueel overzicht for an overview. Also available in English as a PDF, visit Surf Current items.

Surfgroepen

Surfgroepen offers collaboration tools to work together with people all over the Internet, to work on documents, plan projects conference on-line or schedule on-line seminars.
